This Week in Plugins
Dynamic MIDI Arpeggiator
Transform your chords into arps with 999gen2. Create intricate arpeggios, customize speed and complexity, and stay in sync with your DAW. This powerful, user-friendly plugin delivers impressive results. Download the MIDI arpeggiator here.
Synth Update
Essence Plus initially appeared to be a typical synth. Its five oscillators and one multimode filter didn’t capture my attention at first. But upon further exploration, Essence Plus revealed its hidden potential.
The audio quality impresses, even with occasional high frequency anomalies. The chord arpeggiator is easy to use and provides satisfying outcomes. While modulation options might appear limited, the two LFOs and modulation envelopes demonstrate adaptability.
You’ll find Essence Plus to be a good instrument for producing classic trance and various other genres. Download it here.
Chop It Up
The Tip
Use FL Studio’s Piano Roll Chopper feature.
Why?
The Piano Roll Chopper feature can spark new ideas and creative rhythms that you might not have thought of otherwise.
Tell me more.
The Chopper tool in FL Studio’s Piano Roll editor allows you to quickly slice, rearrange, and experiment with different melodic and rhythmic structures in your MIDI patterns.
This is particularly useful for creating variations in your patterns, experimenting with different note lengths, and building more complex sequences. You can also apply various chopping patterns, such as stutter or swing, to further enhance the rhythmic structure of your melodies.
See it in action.
To use the chopper tool, first select the notes you want to chop in the piano roll. Then click the small wrench icon in the upper left corner and select “Chop”, as pictured below.
Tip: You can change the pattern that you use to chop notes by clicking the folder icon on the chopper tool. You can also find additional chopper presets online to expand your library. |
I’ll see you next Friday with another roundup of presets, samples, and VSTs that you can use in FL Studio!
Reply and let me know if you’d like to see any presets in particular or if you have music you’d like me to feature.
Take care.
Cheers,
